Choose the layer by its construction
Fastening and garment shape
A bomber, shirt jacket, blazer and longer coat fall differently. Decide which shape suits the way you will wear it, then check the closures, collar, pockets and garment length listed for that item. The same portrait does not make those underlying garments equivalent.
Fabric and room for another layer
